Covid Response

Carbon Dioxide Monitoring.

At Pip+Marrow we actively monitor CO2, the gas we exhale, as an indicator for how much fresh air is circulating in our indoor space. Research shows that indoor CO2 monitors can mitigate the risk of Covid infection. We know that viral load accumulates from exhaled air, so we maintain near outdoor air quality. Low-risk outdoor fresh air measures around 415 parts per million (ppm) of CO2. We like to keep the CO2 levels less than 450ppm in every room of our center.

Air Filtration.

We use a layered strategy to reduce the risk of Covid-19 in our space. Each room in our clinic has a medical grade HEPA-13 air purifier — removing 99.9% of particles down to 0.1 microns. They are capable of cleaning the rooms every 15 minutes. In addition, we stagger patient appointments and leave rooms empty for 30 minutes after each treatment. Our clinic also has a private HVAC zone with MERV-13 filters, which we run continuously. We also open doors to increase fresh outdoor air as much as possible.

Disinfect.

Hypochlorous acid (HOCL) is a powerful and non-toxic to humans antimicrobial liquid which we use at 200 ppm into the ambient air and directly on surfaces, which has been proven to kill Covid-19 in less than 2 minutes. Before each treatment, all room surfaces and tables are disinfected with HOCL. In addition, all high-touch areas throughout the clinic are disinfected on the regular. You can purchase an HOCL generator for home use, we highly recommend!

Vaccines and Tests.

We get regular Covid tests to ensure our clinic and community are kept safe. We encourage you to do the same. Check out this easy at-home collection kit (RT-PCR): pixel.labcorp.com.

We are also vaccinated. Yay for science!

Hand Washing and PPE.

We take hand washing very seriously at Pip+Marrow. We use soap and water for the full 20 seconds, with a spray of HOCL after. We wash hands before and after each treatment, and before and after doing almost everything!

At all times we wear properly fitting FDA approved, N95 level masks and encourage patients to wear the same. Your nose and mouth should be covered and the mask should fit securely under the chin. Masks should also fit it snugly against the sides of your face.

Covid Screening.

Every patient is screened before entering our clinic. Two days prior to your appointment, expect a screening questionnaire. In addition, we screen at the door for any visible Covid symptoms. Patients who have had a respiratory illness within 14 days, or in close contact with someone who has, are not being scheduled at this time. Patients are required to use our FDA approved 80% ethanol based (no gel) hand sanitizer before they enter the clinic.
